Our Programs
Where Purpose Meets Action.
Every program we run is built around one question: what does this community actually need? From classrooms to clinics to cooperatives to Farms to individuals, our initiatives are designed with — and for — the people we serve.
Four Pillars of Impact
Badu-Schandorf Foundation — owned and principally funded by the Badu-Schandorf Family Trust — concentrates its work across four interconnected areas. We believe that education, health, economic empowerment, and agriculture are not separate issues — they are the interlocking foundations of a dignified life.
Opening Doors Through Learning
We believe education is the most powerful equalizer. Our education programs remove barriers — financial, geographic, and systemic — so every young person can access the learning they deserve.
Our scholarship program has supported over 3,200 students across Ghana, Nigeria, and the United States — covering tuition, books, and mentorship for young people who would otherwise have no path forward.
Beyond scholarships, we build and equip community learning centers, train teachers, and develop culturally relevant curricula that reflect the histories and aspirations of the communities we serve.

Health as a Human Right
Access to quality healthcare should not depend on where you were born or how much you earn. Our health programs bring essential services, training, and infrastructure to communities that have been left behind.
We partner with health platforms, fund community health workers, and partner with local hospitals to extend care into rural and peri-urban areas. Our maternal and child health initiatives have reduced preventable mortality in our partner communities by over 40%.
Mental health is equally central to our work. We train community counselors, run peer-support networks, and advocate for mental health resources in schools and workplaces — because wellbeing is whole-person.

Growing Food Security, Growing Futures
Sustainable agriculture is the backbone of community resilience. Our programs equip farmers with the tools, knowledge, and market access to feed their families and fuel local economies.
We work alongside smallholder farmers — the majority of whom are women — to introduce climate-smart farming techniques, improve soil health, and reduce post-harvest losses. Our agricultural extension program has helped over 2,800 farming households increase yields by an average of 60%.
Beyond the farm, we invest in cooperative structures, storage infrastructure, and direct market linkages so that farmers capture more value from their harvests. Food security and economic independence go hand in hand — and our agriculture programs are designed to deliver both.
Livestock farming is central to our agricultural work. We support communities in raising cattle, goats, and poultry — providing veterinary services, breeding support, and training in sustainable herd management. Healthy livestock means reliable nutrition, additional income, and greater household resilience across seasons.

Investing in Women, Transforming Communities
When women thrive, entire communities thrive. Our empowerment programs equip women with the skills, capital, and networks to lead — in business, in civic life, and in their own families.
Through our Women's Enterprise Fund, we ill disbursed millions of dollars in micro-grants and low-interest loans to women-led businesses across Africa and the diaspora. Recipients receive not just capital, but coaching, peer networks, and market access support.
Our leadership pipeline program identifies emerging women leaders in partner communities and provides them with mentorship, governance training, and platforms to amplify their voices at local, national, and international levels.

How We Work
We don't parachute in with pre-packaged solutions. Every program begins with deep listening — community consultations, needs assessments, and partnerships with local organizations who know the terrain. We co-design, co-implement, and co-evaluate. When we leave, the capacity stays.
Community-Led
Programs are designed with communities, not for them. Local voices shape every decision.
Long-Term Commitment
We measure success in decades, not quarters. We stay until change is self-sustaining.
Culturally Grounded
Our work honors local knowledge, traditions, and leadership structures.
Transparent & Accountable
We publish our results — including what didn't work — because honest reporting builds trust.
Every Program Needs Champions
Your support makes it possible to expand these programs to more communities, serve more families, and create more pathways to lasting change.
